IAPT PWP Supervisor Training

Aspire offer a 3 day training course which supports the development of the core skills required for Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWP's) who will be providing supervision within an IAPT service.

The course content covers the curriculum and learning outcomes required for Low Intensity PWP Supervisors as stipulated in the IAPT Supervisor Training Commissioning Guidance and the following documents:

  • The IAPT Supervision Guidance (2011)

  • The Roth and Pilling supervision competencies relevant to PWPs

Supervising Trainee's Workshop

Aspire offer a 1 or 2 day training course which supports supervisors to develop their skills in supporting student trainees and covers:

  • Curriculum development within training – e.g. COM-B

  • Supporting effective learning environments for trainees

  • Clinical Skills for trainees

  • Assessing competence in line with training requirements

  • Supporting trainee wellbeing & resilience

  • Supporting common trainee challenges

2 Day option additionally includes:

  • Supporting completion of Clinical Practice Portfolio

  • Managing fitness to practice issues

  • Supporting academic reflection

  • Assessing clinical skills through observation – developing confidence in using the competency manual
